I deplore the FBI raid on President Trump’s FL home!

Press Release

FBI Raid on President Trump

“I deplore the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raid upon former President Donald Trump’s home in Florida on August 8, 2022,” said Martin Cowen, Libertarian Candidate for Georgia Attorney General. “While I have no personal knowledge of the circumstances or reasons for the alleged raid and my opinions are based solely upon Internet reports (notoriously unreliable), I have seen six years of other unsuccessful attacks by the Main Stream Media, the Democrats, and RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) on the former President.”

“In my opinion, the raid upon President Trump by this Democrat administration is solely motivated by evil political motives and as such must be condemned in the strongest terms.”

“The FBI and the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) have lost all credibility with me and many Americans who are paying attention. The federal (in)justice system is completely broken. Among the recent failures of the DOJ are these: the persecution of Julian Assange (Australian reporter who published leaked evidence of U.S. war crimes), the incarceration of Russ Ulbricht (creator the web site Silk Road) for two consecutive life sentences for said web site, the pursuit and prosecution of Edward Snowden (former NSA whistleblower), the failure to prosecute the known (but undisclosed) clients of Jeffrey Epstein, the incarceration for months of so-called “deplorables” for unauthorized entry into the Capitol on January 6, 2021, the failure to prosecute the death by gunshot of Air Force veteran Ashli Babbit during that same January 6 event, to say nothing of the FBI’s infamous “blackmail” letter of November 21, 1964, to Martin Luther King, Jr.”

“I advocate the abolishment of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and that it be replaced by nothing.”

Four officers charged in the death of Breonna Taylor

Breonna Taylor, an ER technician, was killed in a hail of Louisville, Kentucky police bullets during the execution of a no-knock warrant on March 13, 2020. Finally, on August 4, 2022, four of the invading officers have been charged in federal court with violations of her civil rights.

Martin Cowen as Georgia Attorney General will strongly oppose no-knock warrants.

Here’s the law:

Georgia statutory law (O.C.G.A. § 17-5-27) requires notice of entry and therefore a “no-knock” warrant should be illegal under GA law. But a 2012 GA Court of Appeals decision changes that: “where the State demonstrates a reasonable suspicion that knocking and announcing the officers’ presence would be dangerous or futile under the particular circumstances, or that it would hinder the effective investigation of the crime by, for example, allowing the destruction of evidence, a no-knock entry may be authorized.”

GA. Code 17-5-27 Use of force in execution of search warrant (Georgia Code (2022 Edition))

“All necessary and reasonable force may be used to effect an entry into any building or property or part thereof to execute a search warrant if, after verbal notice or an attempt in good faith to give verbal notice by the officer directed to execute the same of his authority and purpose.”

Martin Cowen as Georgia Attorney General will advocate the reversal by statute of this court created exception to the banning of no-knock warrants.
